Keeps my V-Strom snug and dry, November 3, 2010

I purchased the Pilot CC6323 large motorcycle cover for my 2005 Suzuki V-Strom 650. Frankly, I didn’t expect a lot for a bike cover that cost under $16. This cover has exceeded my expectations.

First of all, it fits. It covers the bike end to end to about midway down. Okay, the foot pegs get wet, but who cares. What counts is that the seat, the windshield, the tank and a very large Givi top box are completely covered.

More importantly, it keeps the bike dry. I’ve just endured 27 hours of nonstop rain. When the sun finally came out, I pulled back the cover and looked. It’s actually dry under there! Yes, a $16 cover, advertised as “water resistant”, that actually keeps water out for 24 hours.

Another nice feature is its size when stored. It rolls up and compresses into a small stuff bag, ending up about the size of a baking potato. Plenty small enough to toss into a top box or saddlebag, and carry along if desired.

Bought this for my 2009 Kawasaki Versys, the large size fits perfect (goes down to the foot pegs). Can’t go wrong for the price. I use it to keep dust off as well as I thought the nice light silver color would stay cooler in the summer sun. I haven’t tried it in rain, so I can’t comment on how well it would keep the bike dry. It is a very thin and light cover, not heavy duty. It folds up nice and small, and comes with a little pouch to keep it in.
